Top MGAs ranked by insurance brokers

UK general insurance brokers have provided feedback on service across 28 Managing General Agents (MGAs) to inform the latest Five Star Rating Report. The report, published in association with the Managing General Agents’ Association, reveals that 11 MGAs have been awarded the maximum five-star rating for their service quality.
This year’s publication marks the report’s sixth annual edition and is based on a survey of 1,673 UK general insurance brokers conducted between July and September 2025.
The survey investigated brokers’ opinions and levels of satisfaction regarding the services they received from MGA partners over the last 12 months. Of the 28 MGAs awarded a performance-linked star rating, 11 received the maximum five-star score, while nine earned a strong four-star rating and eight achieved a three-star result.

In practice, this development means that brokers and insurers will have a clearer understanding of the service quality provided by MGAs, enabling them to make more informed decisions when selecting partners. This, in turn, can lead to improved relationships and better outcomes for policyholders.
Insurance Times is also excited to announce the upcoming launch of the MGA Hub in Q1 2026. This dynamic new platform will enhance how brokers and insurers engage with MGA partners, bringing together research, insights, news, expert commentary, product information, and testimonials in one place.
The MGA Hub will be led by Savan Shah, head of research at Insurance Times, who has been instrumental in the development of the Insurance Times 5-star ratings reports and other research initiatives.
Savan Shah and his team will oversee the MGA Hub’s operations.
The MGA Hub’s launch is a significant development for Insurance Times.
